Cutting a rail for a Switchblock

Has anyone modified a NSR like this to fit a Noveske Switchblock gasblock? I'm trying to get ideas on how hard it would be to create a system like this. I think maybe Stickman has an NSR rail modified to accept a Switchblock and then obviously Noveske has done it but doesn't sell rails already finished that I'm aware of. Any suggestions on how to get this project rolling are welcome.

Side Note: Obviously it would be a much simpler task to just put a small rail behind the Switchblock, or to put a smaller style adjustable gasblock under a rail. Just trying to figure out how feasible a project this is.

My cousin modified a BAR rail to take a switch block. I think the hardest thing is going to getting the guts to hack up a $250+ rail.

If you do not have access to a vertical mill I would probably say take it to someone who has one. It would be possible to take your time and be very careful with a dremel, then hand file it flush and refinish, should be relatively easy. I have seen a few people do this with DD rails to have use a Switchblock.

To be honest I would probably just look at the new Gemtech BCG with the gas adjustment before I started in on hacking out a rail.

Just put this rail on it. They come standard on all LWRC's The top of the rail is removeable for access to their piston system. For 99 bucks its a smokin good deal. I would check for clearance issues first though. http://www.cdnnsports.com/ar15-handg...l#.VsUggp9MHqA

Modifying the rail should be fairly straight forward, i would think. Measure twice, cut once. Driving home the gas block pin seems to me like it would be the tricky part as you'll need to slide the rail and Switchblock on as a unit.

Shouldn't be too bad. I took down a front sight block using a dremel with the proper cutting wheels and a stone for finishing/smoothing.

Just mark/measure/tape it off and go slow
