Best Barrel Value For The Money
I'm looking for a decent quality barrel that won't break the bank for a "beater" gun that'll be used as a general purpose fun gun. Off the top of my head, Ballistic Advantage comes to the front of the line for high quality and value. I was thinking of one of their QPQ 16" middy barrels with a lo-pro gas block. At right around $200, it seems like it'd be tough to find a better barrel for the money.
Any suggestions for a barrel that will offer equal or better quality and features (including the gas block) for the same amount of money or less?"It's time to start slapping people." - George Carlin

Interested to see your version of a "beater" gun.
Ballistic Advantage is better than decent in my opinion, especially the ones they put on sale every month. They would be worth a look. I also like the Faxon Barrels.

First to mind for what your asking you ....Ballistic advantage,
EDIT: code for first time buyers still appears to work code - SAVE10NOW
Just put a 16" pinned gas block and was like 170 something shipped, seems like a no brainer..they have a 14.5" on sale for less.. One day I'll try one out, got one melonited barrel I need to shit more, it's a little more then your talking but so far my 16" mega 556 barrel has been very good, really need a better scope and sit down with itLast edited by mustangfreek; 29 February 2016 at 01:26.

Go with the Ballistic barrel. Excellent quality from what I've seen, including the pinned GB.
The Silver Aero pistol is our beater and it uses a Ballistic 10.5 "modern series" qpq barrel and BCM BCG and a bunch of leftover parts. I don't think I've ever cleaned it honestly. It only sees wolf and works well. For a beater I couldn't be happier. Good luck on the project

Ballistic Advantage wins the day. Thanks for the input, guys.
It'll definitely be considered a quality rifle by just about anyone's definition. The components will all be of high quality. They'll just be parts that i've got a deal on or are relatively inexpensive on their own. High-end, yet budget.
You rock! Thanks for the discount code! I was leaning toward Ballistic Advantage, but that discount code sealed the deal! $184.50 shipped, and that include a pinned lo-pro gas block!"It's time to start slapping people." - George Carlin

16" 5.56 Government Profile Midlength Barrel, Modern Series. I really wanted a Hanson, but they were OOS. This will do nicely, though.

I have been fairly pleased with my Radical Firearms barrel, but there was a LOT of shit talking on TOS about them having an issue with the barrel extension. For 60 bucks though I don't have anything bad to say about my 10.5" 300BO barrel from them., and I have not experienced any issues with the barrel extension on my barrel.
Can't go wrong with BA though, I have an Aero with one of their barrels in a 7.5" and it performs well for a shorty.
