ZT 0566BW was bought as a return from a shop for $80. Only bought it because it was cheap, but have come to love this knife. It carries very well for it's size, and makes one hell of a screw driver. It even reviews my daughter's school work. I've absolutely abused this knife and it show very little wear. Only complaint is that the thumb studs are useless.

They aren't thumb studs, they're blade stops. It adds strength on frame lock folders.

Good to know, I thought that was what a lock bar stabilizer was for? Mines an older one and it calls those thumb studs in it's manual.

Def thumb studs on mine. They are a few hundredths away from even touching the frame when it's open.

My favorite. Too bad NC knife laws are a remnant from the Jim Crow laws, much like the pistol purchase permit system that is still in place, so I can't carry it unless it's openly visible.

It's a misnomer a lot of makers use. You'll see them on pretty much every framelock. Along with a flipper, or thumb hole. Chris Reeve Knives do use them. As for clearance, not likely if you apply some pressure. The little blade stop pin is the only other thing keeping the blade from collapsing backwards. You also wouldn't see steel liners on benchmade's lock if it didn't employ those pins for strength.

It's okay on the 0566 because the scale and liners are stainless steel. Check the newer ZT Ti framelocks; they have steel inserts on the lock bar. Carbidizing is also a less common solution to lockbar wear.

I miss the "overbuilt" ZT's. They were just right IMO.

    Sounds just like Michigan.

A very old, discontinued, AL Mar ultralight - 1.25 oz. I don't use the sheath that came with it.
