Odin XMR Extended Release vs KNS pins

I've been told you run into clearance issues using the Odin XMR Release with KNS pins. My 'red build' currently is intended to have the XMR Release with no KNS pins, however I was tossing around the idea of using the seekins red button and possibly some KNS pins. Has anyone used the XMR release with KNS pins before? The Release and a set of pins for a different build are on a brown truck headed my way, so I may mock it up to see for myself, but I was wondering if the XMR Release can be modded to not interfere with the pins. SHOULD I decide to combine the two.

I have minor clearance issues with the Odin ACC-SMR and KNS pins. It works, but I will probably replace it with the XMR.

Better shot ... Button just rubs the bottom edge of the KNS.

I guess I will mock mine in with the pins and see. I'm looking at the rise armament RA-140 trigger, which recommends KNS pins. Once my PA order got here I found I ordered the XMR2 and not the XMR. That was me being in a hurry and deleting the wrong item from my cart. Oh well. So I may get the XMR, or go with the seekins Release to match the safety.

Thanks DISCOM, those type pins serve the same purpose as KNS pins, correct? The RA-140 trigger 'reccomends' KNS pins, but these should fit the bill as well, or am I missing something?

Depends on if they are recommending the KNS pins for the anti-walk aspect or the anti-rotation features. Those pins above will rotate within the trigger holes but not walk out. They are the type included with the CMC triggers and I've used them extensively. Clean the oils off well and use locktite or they will loosen over time.

They will fit the bill. I use them on multiple Timney triggers and the RA-140 housing is fundamentally the same.

Sinner, I'm not sure to be honest. This is a c&p from their directions ...

"This step is optional if you’re using KNS pins but required if you’re using standard pins. There are two small setscrews located on the trigger system under the hammer springs. Lift or shift over each hammer spring and use a 5/64 Allen wrench to snug the setscrews to the floor of the receiver. Do not overtighten, as this will change the poundage of the trigger. This step is necessary for the weapon to function properly without KNS pins."

My guns see light to moderate use normally. So I'm not sure where that factors in to pin selection in this circumstance.

Either type will work fine. Used to keep them from walking out. I honestly would not run that trigger without some kind of captive trigger pins. From your description it's sounds like they are using set screws to drive the drop in cartridge up and apply pressure to the trigger pins. A poor design IMO as indicated by being able to change the pull weight by overtorqueing and distorting the cartridge.

If you read the product description, this is the last line...

"Note: The set screw should not be tampered with. Any attempts to modify the trigger will void the warranty."

I agree with your comment on the design. They should just say, pins are REQUIRED, and be done. Doesn't make sense to say don't touch them, but run them in and don't over tighten if you don't use any type of fixed pin, and void the warranty. Still going to give the trigger a shot though, I have never fooled with a drop in, and for $100, it has overall good reviews and works for my wallet. I'll just use some of those anti walk pins that were mentioned and be done. Then I shouldn't have an issue with my XMR2

That is a different screw. The retainer screws are in pairs.
