Sweet build! Could you show a pic of the clearance between the gas block and the rail? I'm looking at that kit, but I'd like to know whether its limited to certain rails or not first.

Thanks! I don't suggest getting an SLR rail or any rail with an ID of 1.3" or below. I'm using the set-screw piston kit, and it is basically touching the top of the gas block. That's one of the main reasons why I'm switching rails. The Geissele clears it just enough at 1.35". Also, I don't have the upper on hand to take a photo, sorry!

Well, if the Geissele clears it, that's all I need to know. THanks man!

This Geissele SD3G has been sitting in my box of parts for over year. I figured this would be a fun build to try it out on.

Edit: I also switched to a B5 grip, and running a shorty Pmag. There's also a sneak-peek at the chopped MK8 rail installed on the billet SMOS GFY upper. Awesome mail call is from AIM Surplus.

Thanks! What did you end up replacing it with? I liked the Trigger Tech, but why stick with one when there are so many options to try!?

I replaced it with a HiperFire 24-3G, I like the SD-3G better though. The 24-3G has an extremely short travel. I'm wanting to try a Larue MBT. The SD-3G did not take me very long to get used to it, it quickly became my favorite Geissele.

Thanks for the insight. The Larue MBT is on my list too - I'm just waiting to catch one of their sales!

The Geissele MK8 modifications look good.

Appreciate it, bro! I was going for function, but form turned out pretty nice too.
