Bumping this thread for opinions.
Seems this round has hit an enthusiastic nerve among barrel companies. I've read various opinions on it and curious what WEVOs think.
Is there an advantage over 223/556 that I'm not seeing for nearly all practical purposes?

Just waiting on some barrels to hit the market.
25% case capacity increase and velocities 300fps faster is quite a significant amount of improvement. Something like 30% over a 5.56 in regards to energy.

AR Performance has a barrel too.
Proof, Noveske, Radian, and apparently Colt are getting in the game. I have an email out to proof on the weight of the CF and stainless versions since they are offering both.
SINNER, what role would this play for you? Longer reach on varmints? Precision shooting?

White Oak has been backordered since they listed them. No threaded muzzles on any listed either. Def looking for a higher end barrel. Not set on any one brand.
Range toy like most. Wouldn't hunt anything but coyotes or pests with a small caliber like that.

I currently don't have any interest in 22 Nosler, but if I did, the ARP barrel would be high on my list: http://www.ar15performance.com/inc/sdetail/38016/46437

If standard barrels are coming in at 44oz like the ARP, I'll probably pass on the caliber on barrel weight alone.

It's a 20" heavy profile barrel.
My Rainier 16" match & Ultramatch barrels weigh 34oz and my 18" SPR/Match is 41oz.
That's a pretty common weight for a long, heavy profile barrel.

You pretty much beat me to it. Same caliber as a 5.56 so weight will be identical to any equally profiled, identical length 5.56 barrel.
I have a few of the ARP barrels and have been more than pleased with them. The owner of the company on the other hand...

$827 at stockys. And $40 less than that if it hits Rainier. But at those prices, whose counting?
I wanted to know the weight for comparisons.
