    Shooting a Prince Rupert's Drop w/ .22lr and hi-speed camera

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=24q80ReMyq0

A Prince Rupert's Drop is an indestructible yet fragile object all in one; made by dropping molten glass in cold water. The bulb is extremely hard but the tail is fragile (watch video for more info, but shooting and slow-mo starts at about 1:30). The bulb deflects the bullet but the shock/vibration of the impact disintegrates the tail, and you see the whole thing explode starting from the opposite end it was shot from. Way cool

Oh Yeah???!!! Well let's see how the old Prince holds up to an A-10 warthog....huh?? All kidding aside, I wonder how that works? Also, how did they know this back in the 17th century? It's almost instant, so without the high tech, high speed camera it would appear to the eye as instantaneous. Really cool, but I wish they had a chemist or someone on hand to explain it.
