    SilencerCo Rebate Program

SilencerCo just announced any suppressor purchased between Feb 1 and April 30, 2017 qualifies for a $200 discount coupon. This coupon can be used for anything on the SilencerCo online store (threaded barrels, adapters, pistons, flash hiders, brakes, etc).

SiCo seems to be showing their financial hand. First massive layoffs. Now major discounts. Too bad it's not truly a discount. Just a coupon, it seems.

What do you mean layoffs. I haven't heard that. I don't have my finger on the industry by any means but it certainly seems like there are some serious uncertain times for companies specializing in NFA items.

First you had a giant run up--a glut of demand if you will caused by 41F... so a whole crap load of people bought suppressors. It seems like it pushed demand forward quite a bit which is actually leaving 'now' where sales are less and less. Then throw into that now people are either A) flush on suppressors for a while or B) holding out hope that the HPA will pass.

I don't have an evidence whatsoever but I would think those wild fluxuations and whatnot are causing a bit of concern in the industry.

Yep, and as always its on your "NEXT" purchase. Which doesn't help me out now... Reminds me of the whole govt. tax return scam. I will just keep my money now and invest it and make a 6-10% return on it instead of letting the govt. keep it for a year and give me 0% interest on it.

Meh. People are paying off Christmas and all sorts of other stuff. A lot of enthusiasts have more than one dimension to our GAS.

This article made me laugh as sometimes you forget that not every knows SilencerCo essentially caused their own competition by letting Graham and Pappas go. Just like how AAC let everyone go, including Brittingham, who was basically the brains of the operation.

Much like AAC, what is SilencerCo bringing to market.... Nothing.

Everyone's dumping on SiCo claiming they are outdated and offering nothing new. And yet all the "new" market submissions are nothing more than same crap from employees that have left other companies simply repackaging it with cool names and marketing hype that people eat up.

Suppressor technology in general has kind of peaked. Everything is stacked baffles in Stainless or Inconel.

I don't think anyone is trashing SiCo. I own or am waiting for 6 SiCo cans myself, so I don't have any issues with them. I'm one of the people who are stuck with "old" stuff because I'm so heavily invested in AAC and Surefire Mounts I keep buying those.

    But the Maxim!

Until that's perceived a regular use tool, it'll just be a novelty or at most a nightstand item.

SiCo is just boring at this point resting on yesterday's laurels.

The reason I said "nothing" is because their new ASR Sakers appear to be nothing more than Specwar's with new mounts.

Right now, AAC is worse with new stuff, they just released a modular TiRant. LOL

I don't know enough about it but after my own homework it does seem like SiCo is pretty stale as a company. I'm not an engineer or anything but it seems like they have a very popular name but even from a layman who just did internet research they came across that way to me. Probably one of the reasons I marked them off my list when I was silencer hunting for the first time.

I really wonder how far they can push the envelope with things. Aside from lighter and more durable metals that can stand up to more abuse I am not sure where they go to next. I think if anything we will see a trend shift should HPA get through. Now people are making modular one size fits all cans (like the Optimus) but if HPA gets through I think you will see a lot more specialized cans. You want a 6.5 CM suppressor? NO PROBLEM! I also think firearms manufacturers will start selling guns and suppressors as a package.

A number of things could change up.

Looks like TacSoup picked up on the non-rebate rebate too.
