    Muzzle Devices (over the barrel)

Okay, so the last few weeks I've had my head in the AK world.

I've got the Zhukov handguard coming for my 5.56 AK. I plan on sending it out to have the barrel chopped to 14.5 and a muzzle device pinned on.

This will not be a suppressor gun. At least I don't think so at this time.

So having said that. I am looking for a muzzle device that has a sleeve that slides over the barrel (I hope that makes sense). I think it would look cool for this project.

I've found Griffin Armament, but I don't need the suppressor mounts on it. I know there are others but I don't think I am using the right term to find them.

    Here is Griffin Amament's.

I cannot find another example for some reason and I know there are more. Any help?

Surefire had one for their reflex style cans. AAC as well. They're all going to be suppressor mounts, though.

Like Slippers said they're suppressor mounts. Some others are the:

Didn't realize they were all for suppressors. Thanks for that bit of knowledge!

I like the Griffin and the Surefire.
Only problem I might run into is barrel diameter. I am pretty sure my barrel is too thick, dang it. I think my barrel is .791. I'll have to measure it again this evening.

If your bent on using a reflex mount (and depending on who you are using for your barrel work) you can remove enough metal from the outer diameter of the barrel IOT time/ install the mount properly. You can do it at the same time you get your barrel cut down.

I'm pretty sure ADCO has an option to do the kind of work I'm talking about.

Most reputable smiths should be able to easily turn the barrel down to fit under one of those suppressor mounts.

I'm lucky, there is a pretty top notch AK guy here in Michigan.

I planned on profiling and install at the same time as cutting the barrel.

Problem is finances right now. I keep jumping back and forth between doing what I can afford now or saving in and doing it right. Lol

I can't imagine the re-profile would cost you much more. You could probably do it in one or two cuts. If you are already cutting the barrel that would be the time to do it.
