Yeah, it is amazing. My bad, I was talking the tube, end plate, castle nut, and should say about 1oz. or a hair more. Brain damaged blamed for that one. Certainly not a quarter pound.
I did, have a quarter pounder for lunch a few days ago, with fries and a coke and probably gained a quarter pound.

Buy the barrel and have it cerakoted
I would mate the gas block to the barrel and use some sanding cloth to work down and spots that hang on the barrel. If it’s a snug fit, it’ll be tighter with Cerakote. MCA’s battlekitty Rifle that was cerakoted by BDL had the Rainier UM barrel done in a FDE/Khaki. I greased the hell out of the barrel and block but it was really snug. I put a small run in the Cerakote but it was covered up by the gas block and rail. If I could’ve matched the two ahead of time it would’ve been fine

A while back I remember seeing a low pro gas block that was intentionally made a hair bigger to fit over cerakoted barrels. I will look around...
