Pink Mist Tech - Blood Pack

I picked up a Blood Pack (Reactive Shooting Accessory), made by Pink Mist Tech, while at the 2012 SHOT Show. The general basis behind this "Blood Pack" is to place an adhesive envelope, much like a shipping label pouch, to the rear of your target. Once the adhesive envelope is attached, you insert the blood pack, staple up your paper target, and you now have a "reactive" paper target. I am just about willing to try anything at least once, so I figured that I would give this a try. Ultimately, I wanted to see if this product would have any added value when I teach handgun or rifle courses to the Officers in my Department.

Each pack comes at a cost of $3.00 and can only be used once. Pink Mist Tech (http://pinkmisttech.com/pmtpress/) sells the Blood Pack through LET (Law Enforcement Targets), located at: http://letargets.com/estylez_item.aspx?item=PMT-1. If you want to order in bulk, you can purchase 1,000 for $2.69 each.

For me personally, the oooh, ahhh factor was not really there. And at $3.00 a piece, it is not really cost effective, especially as a teaching aid for a few hundred Officers. There may be a crowd out there that buys these things up, but they are just not for me.

I shot the Blood Pack today with a AR-15....here is the video so you can form your own opinion if you like it or not:

Could you make your own with food dye and gelatin using small baggies?
