Yeah, I noticed I smelled rifle gas for the rest of the day after playing with that 308!

One of the best features of the larue obr and predatobr is the two setting gas block. Those rifles run really well suppressed and unsuppressed. Same goes for the scar platform after you swap out the gas jet for the size that runs best with your specific suppressor. Neither is a cheap choice, however.

Okay, I broke down and got an adjustable gb, nitrided gas tube and flashcomp, replaced the nitrided BCG with an NiBx one. Everything function tests fine and its ready to go. I'll work on the optic after I get back from Nashville in November.

Finally got some glass for this rifle! Sig Sierra3BDX. It comes with a KILO rangefinder and the two link via bluetooth. According to the manual it does some pretty amazing shee-it!

Thanks man. It’s been needing topped off for a while now. This scope is amazing. I know there’s no substitute for skill, but I don’t, and haven’t had the time to invest.

Mine ran like a champ unsuppressed, ran terrible suppressed. I ended up getting an adjustable gas block as well. Haven't tuned it yet.

So what if your never going to run suppressed (NY will never let us have it) is there any reason for a adjustable gas block?

It will depend on how the particular barrel is gassed. Even unsuppressed, I've had unpleasant experiences with .308 barrels.

I have a Battle Arms 18", when I called them they said it was made to not use a adjustable gas block. All I've ever heard was it was a good idea no matter what to use one. I suppose i could build without one a d see how it goes

I haven't got into fiddlefucking with buffers and BCG weights yet, but the unsuppressed gun causes a train wreck worth of recoil. Not in the .30-06 category, but for something supposedly damping the energy, it's still putting out some hellacious kick. Believe it or not, the gas block did help that and I haven't even tried putting the can back on it.

Now that could just me having my first experience shooting .308, but I've shot enough bolts and shottys to know soft and smooth vs. Carol Fucking Baskin level of bitchy!

On my particular factory gun it was fine. It ate everything i fed it without any issues. I only had issues suppressed.
