Recommendations for Prescritption Shootic Glasses
The title tells the tale.
I'm getting older and I need to replace my shooting glasses. I currently use Oakley Flakjackets. But I'm willing to look for something that befits my more low speed, high drag nature since I retired. Something I can wear every day and not stick out, but with ballistic protection. I'm fond of my eyeballs and I really like to shoot steel.
What have you got and what do you like? No need for bifocals or progressives yet just a light prescription for distance.
I'd rather have something cooler like a new chest rig or plate carrier but.....................Last edited by MonkeyBomb; 12 September 2024 at 15:35.

Have you looked at other options from Oakley on their Standard Issue site? Back before I got LASIK, I looked at some of their styles but my prescription was too strong for what they could do with their lenses (Eventually I was up around a +2.75 and they could only go up to +2.00). They seem to have some nice options, assuming your script is compatible. If you have a - script (which it sounds like you have), they can go pretty high (or low, I guess).
It also looks like some of their styles are more compatible with over-ear ear pro than in the past, if that matters to you.

Yep I looked at Oakley SI. I can get the same as I have but they don't seem to be doing prescription replacement lenses anymore. If they do I can't find them. I don't mind the square wires but they are going to run me close to 4 bills out the door.
Wiley X isn't doing too much for me. The Rudy Project might have some that fit the bill but I haven't messed around with them as much as Oakley and Revision.
I live in the sticks and I'll likely have to order online without being able to try them on. So it's going to be a crapshoot.Last edited by MonkeyBomb; 13 September 2024 at 19:08.
