PSA Jakl 9mm... your thoughts please
I am considering one of these for a small truck type of gun.
If you have any thoughts on this type of firearm please post it below.
My thoughts are 'it's PSA' and that is pretty good for something that I would throw in a bag and put in the car for a rifle ish option.
I don't really plan on leaving it in the car all the time but if I need to I wouldn't be as worried about it as something else.
I would probably top it off with a Holosun or something like that.
If we get the HPA and SHORT through I might even get a suppressor for it. I would probably run a brace until I could get a stock (should that be included in the BBB).
What I like about it is it can fold and the overall size is pretty small for potentially having to handle it inside of a car.
Pros and cons please let me know your thoughts.

I like the faux ACR look of the rifle. It?s on one of my to-do lists. Hell, Garand Thumb liked it; check out his test. I agree with him though, that Franklin needs to bring back the ACR, only not effed-up, the way BM made it.

I am wondering why, in general, that people usually don't like blow back operated rifles? I am not stating that as a fact, but a whole lot of people online either say it or refer to it (not liking blow back).
Is it because of the recoil? As in all of the extra mass reciprocating?
What is your view on the in general dislike of blow back firearms?

I am in the crowd that doesn't like blow back 9mm carbines/sbr (no complaints on blowback rimfires). It's kind of one of those things that once you've shot an MP5 it's hard to go back. The reciprocating mass of blowback guns is usually huge and can make for an almost comical recoil impulse (i.e., the weapon recoiling forward as the bolt returns to battery). Also, it's simple and therefore should be cheap, as there is no difficult engineering required, so when I do see a blowback system I expect it to be cheap. Expensive blow-back guns are just a no-go for me. For more money, you get better engineering, like pistons or roller/radial delay to provide smoother recoil.

My reality is that I haven't shot high volume in so long, I don't need a PCC to make the cost of shooting affordable. That said, 300 BLK is still relevant in my book. 5.56 is impossible to properly suppress, and supers do okay. If I need to go over 500 yds, I'm moving to .308, or a bolt action.

Getting back to your OP: 9mm PCC and "truck gun" don't make sense together, to me at least. And I'm in the minority of folks that still think PCCs have a valid role to play, but I think that is primarily home defense where a 147gr Gold Dot has adequate terminal ballistics for most threats. So, I like them for confined spaces where I want precise shot placement (inside 10-20 yards) and minimal blast.
But for a truck gun, I generally am thinking that threats are more likely to be "in the open" , distances open up, and "barrier blind" performance may start to matter, which is where .223 does well.
So, I'm not quite sure what "mission profile" you have in mind when you pick a 9mm PCC for a truck gun. Perhaps elaborate a bit more on that?
As for the PSA jackl, I'd probably be intriqued if I was in a place where i could buy one, but now that WA has shut that down I'm stuck with what I got, which happens to be plenty. In this category, I love my Sig MPX. There are a few legitimate grips about the MPX (expensive, heavy for what it is, and hard to mitigate gas in the face), but I think it's an outstanding weapon (mine is accurate, reliable, and I think the recoil is even slightly better than an MP5, which is huge praise). The Jackl looks like an attractive cost effective alternative to the MPX/MCX platform.

I guess I have really two things on my mind about this. Ideally I would like more firepower. But in this particular context I want something that I can easily handle (size wise) inside of a car. Also I want something small enough that I can put it in a backpack or something because I definitely will not be leaving a firearm in my car 24/7. I guess the overall length is kind of critical thing for what I have in mind. I probably should take what I have already and see what my acceptable OAL would be. I'm guessing around 24" if including the stock, but I don't know.
I guess a side folding 300BLK would probably work as well. The PSA 300BLK jakl pistol is around 21" long when folded. That said I kind of have been wanting a PCC but I'm not sure what to save up for. I have been thinking about it for a long time but I never got around to it because of other things going on. In my head I'm thinking size wise of an MP5K with a folding stock or PDW and maybe a tri lug suppressor.
In all likelihood my odds of going out to the yard and shooting the heck out of a 9mm PCC would be about 100,000 times more probable than getting into a gun fight so there's that.
A lot of these things I'm interested in I don't have the opportunity to shoot or test out so in my head it is more complicated. I kind of like the PDW style because there is no folding. At least in my head it would be easier handling in a confined space like a car.

I see. You're thinking more PDW than "truck gun". The 300 AAC will definitely give you more juice, so an MCX/JAKL is reasonable. Below is a picture of a 5.5" 300ACC "PDW" pistol build next to an MP5K (PRT9K) to show how close you can get.
But PCC / 9mm PDWs are fun, too. Have you considered the new Kuna? Or, perhaps an MP5K?
