I want to put one on my up coming pistol. Adds an extra bit to LOP and allows for better storage (I drive a focus afterall).

That's exactly it. If you want a normal size backpack, this is the way to go. If you use a shockwave, LOP doesn't matter much since the brace can be adjusted. But if you just want a long buffer tube, the folder with an A5 adds a lot. You can't shoulder a brace but I've read nothing about not shouldering a tube.

Toying around with the idea for putting it on a future SBR build (I know, shocking).

That's exactly it. If you want a normal size backpack, this is the way to go.
