JPG vs RAW
Doing a little experimenting tonight with photo retouching and thought I'd share. I was curious how a bone-stock JPG straight from the camera compares to a RAW image with a few minutes of retouching.
First the JPG, straight from the camera in full-auto mode, resized by half and cropped but otherwise no manipulation:
Then the RAW photo with the same camera settings and about 10 minutes of work in Lightroom:
I had my doubts about going RAW a while back, simply because of the extra time and expense. For the average person, JPG is fine but if you really want your photos to pop you pretty much have to use RAW and spend some time editing.
