You made a nice score for 100 bones. This was my daily driver for a couple years. Most people either don't use them, or stop once the factory grind is toast because they can't get D2 sharp.

Doesn't Benchmade still offer lifetime sharpening? If i recall correctly, one used to be able to ship Benchmade their knife with a check for the nominal service fee (it was $10 or something, basically to cover return shipping), and they'd put the factory grind back on your blade. Damn good deal, especially for blades that are a bitch to put an edge on.

They do, and some people use it, I'm sure. There are a lot who are used to lesser steels and get shitty results after spending ungodly sums on sharpening systems who blame everything but their skills. I worked at getting good at free hand sharpening in order to not be reliant on equipment, or lose the use of my knife for weeks. DMT stones and Flexxx stops are all you need to keep an edge on any super snob steel.
