Does anyone know if SKD is the only vendor for the Ready Tactical mag pouches? I've googled and binged myself silly and cannot locate them anywhere else.?? They do have the .308 available but nothing in 5.56, in stock.
Thanks,

I have the Costa leg rig very secure. ran it in a few "tactical matches". bailing out of vehicles running, up and down ladders, and still every bit as snug as when I stuck um in there. HSGI has a couple different versions now as well if you need more rifle mags. quite a few of the guys at the range had tacos on their kits (match is held near Ft. Bragg in NC so lot of active duty guys shoot it) and those tacos fit anything you put in there. (saw a guy shove his G19 in there as a demo)

I think the HSGI/Costa thigh rig might be my next investment after I finish getting my AR-10 transformed.

In my opinion the Esstac KYWIs are the best there is, but they are pricey. Great retention, speed and longevity. I only like HSGI Tacos for rigs where I might choose to run AK mags out of them as well as my usual AR mags. I don't particularly like open top mag pouches with elastic bands around them for retention because it is a mega butt pain to re-insert mags one-handed, and the elastic will eventually wear out and is typically not replaceable. I don't like mag pouches with flaps or bungee over the opening for retention either.
Let my last thought not be, "if only I had my gun..."

Got the Ready Tactical (well actually several days ago) AR magazine pouches and had a chance yesterday to wring them out. I don't know how to shoot video with my camera, or I would have, but I have to say I put them through their paces, as far as having loaded magazines in a "pouch" Some of my "torture" tests even border on ludicrous as far as retention, and much more than I'll ever practically need. Weird thing is when you go to pull them out, they don't snag or hang, they come out smoothly.
You can adjust the tension with a hair dryer or heat gun, but I didn't need either. However, if after an initial break in period, the loosen a bit, I know I can very easily go back and tweak them a bit. I also use the "beer can" grip and everything seemed smooth and natural.
I have to give credit where credit is due, to forum member Rob_s for the recommendation. Also, come to think of it, at the top of this thread he does have a link to a video that he shot, that pretty much tells you what you would need to know.

I'm a big fan of the HSGI Tacos. Great retention and easy to get in/out.

I just saw them on Stickman's FB page, and apparently they do come in black. Might want to visit, because they are giving some away. I'd love to win about six of those!. Look like they're ready for hard core usage, probably way more than your average shooter is going to put them through.
And thanks, UWone77, for the shameless plug....NRA Life Member
