Gemtech finally offering Outback .22 upgrade

    http://www.recoilweb.com/review-new-...des-54797.html

Gemtech pissed off A lot of customers a couple years ago by discontinuing the promised service of their 22 suppressors, despite that being part of the purchase agreement.

Available starting December 15, The charge is a little steep, but for $250, it is well worth it to get the performance back out of a suppressor that has probably turned into a paperweight.

They completely clean and recore it with the new G core monocore, it becomes rated for 22 mag and 17 HMR, is Cerakoted and comes in a fancy new pouch.

THIS IS FOR YOU, LUIS !!

Awesome dude. Gonna keep your camo finish or get it redone in Cerakote?

    Happier with Gemtech now?

It'll be worth it in the long run. It crossed my mind that they might get overwhelmed with work orders, since they're not only taking the OBII cans, but any .22 suppressor over 5" in length with a 1" tube like an old AAC Pilot or the old sealed YHM cans, and put a hold on any incoming cans for repair til they catch up. Speculation of course but they also said the Outbacks would be guaranteed service....

You could buy the 5.56 can and get the work done on your OBII during the pending so you get two working cans back around the same time...

I'd get my .22 can fixed, but that's just me

I have a .17HMR, and while it is fun and crazy accurate for a rimfire, the ammo is expensive. I haven't shot mine in a few years since the ammo price skyrocketed
