When it comes to the ATF, i've given up hope. They've been sitting on my $200 for five months, no stamp yet. Granted, it was returned for correction, but it was sent back more than two weeks ago. My patience is running low. But even at five months, it's still better than the 12+ months it took a few years ago. Hurry up and wait, i reckon.

So, the question now is when to submit a few more From 1s: On or after 9 June, or sometime sooner with the expectation that BATFE won't get around to reviewing them until after the law takes effect.

I'm waiting till June. I'm not in a rush, and don't want anything kicked back after 41F takes effect.

That's the direction I'm leaning as well. One less thing to worry about.

I received both my Form-1 SBR approvals (with "Draft" stamps) yesterday. Still have a Form-4 SBR and suppressor outstanding. Can has been in jail five months, SBR just went in last week.

I thought the rules were subject to what's in place at the time the form is submitted? Did that change?

I don't see any point in submitting before the 9th. ATF knows the current law is whack and is denying them right away.

The folks who got the amendment are going to get the ATF an official notification of the law change.

As a result, it should be fine to submit on the 9th or 10th. I'll probably do mine on the 10th just to be safe.

Yah, sorry, we're musing about a Washington state SBR law issue. The original law allowed SBRs, but accidentally didn't allow you to build one. The law has been fixed and goes into effect June 9, so a lot of us are chomping at the bit to form 1 some lowers.
