I finally finished the HK USP9 project i've been collecting parts for over the past couple years. It started simple enough: buy a new USP9 and get a threaded barrel for it so i could use it as a suppressor host on occasion, and add other parts (tall sights, etc.) as i found deals on them. Well, i liked the way the basic gun shot so well that i decided to keep it as is and source another USP9 (a used one this time) to use as a dedicated suppressor host. I collected parts as i came across them, and had everything i needed to finish the project except a USP9. Not finding what i was looking for on the used market locally, i emailed my Koch dealer to see what sort of deal he could get me on a new pistol, and couldn't say no.
I used all new Heckler & Koch parts on this pistol to keep it looking like something HK might actually sell, and to ensure 100% function and reliability (no point in buying an HK only to sacrifice what makes it an HK). The slide was fitted with HK's (made by Meprolight) tall adjustable sights, and USP9SD barrel (threaded) and recoil spring assembly (designed to function with cans). The frame was gutted and the stock trigger was replaced with a combination of HK's Match and LEM trigger components, which makes for an incredibly smooth, crisp, reliable trigger pull with minimal (adjustable to personal preference) over travel. The frame was finished off with a Jet Funnel kit, which balances out the gun quite nicely (especially with a can attached) and makes the grip feel perfect to my hands.
The end result is a gun thats easy to shoot well and is stupid quiet with my Osprey 45 and subsonic ammo.
