I added one to my rifle for all the reasons you mentioned and I'm really glad I went that route, instead of adding a mount to the buffer tube. No additional weight, looks like it belongs there. Perfect spot for my Troy 1-pt sling. I can run my ACS stock fully collapsed with no interference.
Can't ask for more than that, can I? Plus, it has the Noveske logo.
I will add one to my next AR as well. Nice and simple.

I've been using ASAPs with HK hooks for the last year but decided to try QD slinging a few months ago with a Noveske QD end plate. I'm impressed enough that I've pulled all my ASAPs off and replaced them with Noveskes - the new IWC 2 to 1 Point Triglide was the last straw that allowed me to do away with HK hooks.
