Winchester 1200 Rebarrel
I bought a great condition but old Winchester 1200 12 guage (28" barrel) a couple of years ago. It was cheap... about $90 I think. I have never fired it. Right after purchase I found an 18" barrel and installed it. Still, I have not fired the gun.
With the 28" barrel, the pump action was smooth as glass. With the 18" barrel... things are very stiff as the bolt tries to go into battery.
I have read about headspace on AR rifles, and I am now wondering if maybe I should take the shotgun to a qualified gunsmith to look over before I try firing with the 18" barrel. Something just does not seem right, even though everything is put together properly.
Anybody have experience or knowledge that could help? Maybe I should put the long barrel back on and buy a proper street sweeper style shotgun?
