My SPR Precision oriented AR build Almost Finished =)
Hey guys,
My first post here.
I wanted to share my AR build with all you AR lovers. I wanted to build something that is absolute tack driver and something that looks good =) with good quality parts and build it right. =) So after some research and visiting LGSs and touching/trying a few key parts I have started getting components for this build.
For the barrel I went with Rainier Arms/Shilen Ultramatch 18 inch 1:8 twist 223 Wylde Chambered SPR profile Barrel with Rifle length gas. RA Billet Upper/Lower Mod 2 Combo, Raptor Charging handle, RA Bolt Assy, Syrac Gen II Adjustable gas block, Gas tube.
I am very excited about this build.
And here is some gun porn for you.

You're going to love that charging handle. Gunstruction sent me #30 of 30 of the custom ones that AXTS did for them. I can see why people spend the bucks for them. They are really super. It's unlikely you needed to go with an adjustable gas block for a rifle length gas system though. It's not very likely that a rifle length gas system would overgas the gun.
Freedom is NEVER Free. We have to work to protect it and even be willing to die to protect it.

Block Worx upper vice block by Spikes Tactical.
Great solid quality tool. Upper fits nice and snug and optional upper block slides on the flat top rails and clams sideways in the vice for high torque barrel removal/installation.
(I am still waiting for Lapping tool and then I can start putting the upper together)
completed my Upper build. Here is some info and pictures =)
Upgraded my vice to 5 inch. =)
Installed Barrel with some Aeroshell 33MS (If anyone needs some I have whole tube of it) torqued and properly clocked the barrel nut.
Barrel came pre dimpled with one dimple. Made second dimple for Syrac Gas block and set it up with Red Locktite.
Fortis Rev 14 was the hand rail of my choice. Oh boy what a great quality piece! Then Bolt and Charging handle was installed and lubed.
Final piece was Silencerco SpecWar Flash Hider/Can mount.

I completed my build with Bobro Mount install with Falcon Menace/BSA Tactical 4-14x44 FFP Mil-Mil Scope (EDIT: this is my back up scope. I am waiting for Viper PST 6-24x50 FFP EBR-2C MRAD and they are all on back order) and MSP Anti-Cant Device.
Bobro makes amazing mounts, very solid, beautiful machining and great quick disconnect design.
Also shown is Atlas bipod with QD option. (might add Atlas rear stock support later if necessary)
I want to say thank you to Rainier Arms for making great parts and I am looking forward to shooting this build in very near future.
Working up couple loads with Varget and CFE223 with 69SMK.

This build reminds of of the guy buying the 60k loaded out truck... and then putting a $50 canopy on it.
Not everyday the mount costs more than the optic.
Otherwise, it looks solid!
