Dang! Who makes that end plate?
Damage industries.
Dang! Who makes that end plate?
Troy also makes a end plate similar to that one.

In my experience, which is admittedly limited, damage has some damn good parts for damn good pricing. I'm really stuck on their ambi 45 degree selectors right now.

Have you had any experience with their various parts kits? Been thinking about buying a couple to throw in the parts bin, in case I need to switch out parts or whatever.
This is a pretty big thread, but I'd like to get in line for the 50k red dot. Thanks.

Ohh I've been toying with it and haven't even cleared it yet. As soon as I get my rifle back from Blowndeadline and ride uses it. I will be donating a Arisaka leveler to the T&E program. Would like it back at some point possibly but I'll probably end up buying another anyway. I'll let UW dictate who it goes to after Ride. A small way of giving back.

It's heavy. Do I really need a variable?
Thinking maybe a fixed power if I can shave enough weight.

After shooting a bit I am a big fan of variable optics. At 100 yards and in though you have a lot of different options. I have pretty much done a research project on this subject recently.
Are you shooting steel targets? Trying to get groups? What kind of shooting to you do or like?
As I have said--I have recently done a ton of research on various optical choices....

It was like 75 degrees here today...[:D]
1 MOA is not battle accuracy LOL Hitting an 8 or 10 inch plate at 100 yards is battle accuracy. [BD]
With that same scope you have I shot around a 1/2 inch group at 100 yards with off the shelf ammo.
I would consider getting a nice red dot and possibly a magnifier. 1x red dot with a QD magnifier.
What were you thinking about as other options?

Hahaha, the battle accuracy was supposed to be sarcasm.
I decided against an RDS & magnifier.
I've just been considering something fixed power like an ACOG knockoff or something.

What started as the AR-47 build for my youngest to use for hunting came to a halt. She went and participated in our clubs youth precision shoot in the semi-auto class using my NTD build. She has decided that she wants to compete in that division and wants to repurpose what we had already collected to go towards building a precision rig. With race season starting in April the funds to finish this will start to flow in.
Parts list to finish this out is:
Rainier Arms Precision Match Grade Phosphate BCG (will be ordered 1 May)
Rainier Arms / Mega AR-15 Slide Lock Charging Handle (will be ordered 17 April)
Iron Viper Tear Drop Forward Assist (will be ordered 17 April)
MI LW M-LOK 15" FF Rail (will be orderd 10 April)
Ultra Match Grade 16" Barrel (will be ordered 22 May)
Rainier Arms RAC (will be ordered on 17 April)
Vortex Viper HS 2.5-10x44 w/ Dead-Hold BDC Reticle (Ordered)

The great thing about this rig not becoming a hunting rifle is now I get to build a Remington 700 for hunting that she will use for hunting.

The wife and I made a commitment that this year we are getting in shape, going to train and shoot more. I am down 15lbs and she is down over 25lbs. Eating healthier, exercising right, feeling better about ourselves.
Between work, family, and holsters not a lot of free time. Race season is going to take up Friday nights. Once a month we hit the range and run concealed carry drills. Now with the girls getting into shooting hopefully we can spend a little more time at the range each month.

About the same here, my wife has me on a diet and I'm down 25lbs. She thinks she's gonna get me into skinny jeans, she's lost her mind. Can't wait for my girls get a little older. Dirt track racing. Local track here and the last couple of years I have been pretending to be the race director while Christina does all the social media updates

Thank you. I actually got a few of those rails from Aero already coated for something like $110 a piece when they liquidated all the Cerakoted parts. No matching uppers so I planned to just change the color altogether. After looking at all those rail slots to blast I decided to attempt a color match. 110% luck as that was the first try at a match. I do appreciate keeping me in mind but honestly with the pile I have to even zero my review would likely be during the gen 4 release. haha

The thing I like about it being that far is that I am not spending a lot of time and money shooting. It really makes me go to the range with a purpose. Because I have been going with a purpose to the range I have actually seen huge improvements in my shooting because I am actually doing drills and documenting what I need to work on for the next range trip.

Range is a long distance shooting range. Can do workups out to 1200 yards at this place. I will go to club I belong to (still an hour drive), to do the initial zero and 100 yard confirmation.

We have tons of cow pastures around here that would easily give 1000 yards or more. Just need to ask permission if I could shoot on someone else's place. The closest one---you can see it from the end of my driveway, but like I said, I need to get permission from whoever owns it first which may or may not happen.
I have a 200 yard lane out in my back yard.

The thing I like about it being that far is that I am not spending a lot of time and money shooting. It really makes me go to the range with a purpose. Because I have been going with a purpose to the range I have actually seen huge improvements in my shooting because I am actually doing drills and documenting what I need to work on for the next range trip.
I can certainly understand and relate. Even though my main range is only 25 minutes away (and a fantastic playground), I find that another great way to make your range time count is to be a tight wad. Most of the time (there are definitely exceptions), I hate to send $.25 to $1 down range with every trigger pull and not be getting something out of it. It's amazing how much you can accomplish with a plan and only 100-200 rounds if you apply it effectively.

^^^ What he said! YES!!!
I agree 100% with this sentiment. Practice is one thing, but perfect practice makes perfect. I rarely will shoot more than a magazine or two a few times a week and that's about it. Of course there are times when I get together with people and we shoot a whole lot more than that. My thing is though is I need to figure out more skills that I need to work on. I mean there are things like gathering data on your optic, your ammo, shot logging, or whatever... but I am wondering what kind of shooter skills I need to work on.

Yeah I'm aware of what's allowed, just upsets me that I didn't get everything I wanted before that. I've got plans for another rifle, but I'll have to move my 18" barrel and parts to a new receiver set and use my pre ban seekins set as the basis for anything in the future.

The SD3G is what I'm looking to get. Not sure about the flat bow, never tried one on an AR, but for me the difference would be to automatically differentiate from the SSA-E I have.
Flat bow, finger is on the SD3G.
Curved bow, finger is on the SSA-E.
Got a buddy with a SSA, SSA-E, and an ALG ACT. When we start swapping uppers and lowers its easy to lose track of what trigger you're about to pull.

I'm using it with a FSB and it's not quite enough magnification to get rid of the FSB in the sight picture. It's a very faint blur out front, but noticeable. 3x would get rid of it completely. Not to toot anyone's horn around here but I agree. And the lack of uppityness or bullshit is great. I personally think this is a fantastic place to be. The more I am here the more I like it. The mentality, the attitude, the fun, but also the people are just great. I like being surrounded by good people. There are no "Rambozos" here. (Some bozo that wants to be Rambo who comes off as some weirdo)... I personally like to be a knowledgeable person so there is some manner of nerd factor involved but hey, that's a good thing. And the fact that I can ask my nerdy questions from time to time and eventually at some point someone or several people can come along and give a real answer is just awesome.
As for the pics it's a double edged sword. On one hand they are awesome. On the other it reminds me that I am poor. [:D] J/K

2 New York women go down to vacation in Texas. While out hitting the local bar and dance floors one of them spots a tall Texan and she leans over to tell her friend "I am taking that cowboy home tonight". The other lady laughs and asks why, she responds "Look at the size of that condom in his back pocket"

Ride, Shane from Multitasker is sending us one of these: BVL530 Light. You can use it for T&E ... seems like it'll be a good long-term tester.
Eric, one of our mods will be shooting a new upper built around Rainier's new 16" Rock Creek Rifle Length Gas. Eric if you're reading this thread, I'll link up with you at some point soon to hand it off.

That's a pretty interesting barrel. Was the rock blanks a limited run or will they be a regular product? Any idea?

Awesome and thank you, I just purchased one of the Aero M4E1 7.5" Uppers with Keymod to run the bolt in so we can see how it wears on a new upper compared to a Milspec bolt. Need to find a lower now, going to try that new Shockwave "brace" looks much better than the Sig.

I forgot to mention, you have to install that bolt catch included, otherwise it'll be a bolt action. Let me know if you need a roll pin or a replace to bolt catch once you're done with the upper.

Yeah I was just looking over that part. Interesting for sure.
I will let you know and keep you updated. I should be able to unscrew the bolt catch release and swap it out. At least I hope so:P. CMT Tactical is awesome like that. I have exactly one roll pin in my entire rifle and that is on the gas block.
There is a lot going on with that thing :) That aught to keep me busy for a little bit LOL It will be one doozie of a review.

Well you knew that was going to happen. We've had some really good write ups and some others where we haven't heard anything. Then again, you have to give the T&E process some time as not everyone can get to the range immediately. Once I get back up to speed, I'm going to follow up with some of the guys who have had some stuff for 3+ months.

Yeah, I knew it would. I do feel guilty I haven't had a chance to finish the write up I've started for this Troy upper (even though it wasn't a T&E). I'll I've done is indoor shooting this year which is limited to 50 yards (which SUCKS).
I have plans with a friend to finally get out toward the end of the month. If nothing else I have an MGO shoot coming up at the end of July which I AM going to and WILL be shooting.
