I thought it was no better than the Razor Gen II HD ? [:D]
Did I hear angels sing when I looked through it no... It is clear? Yes! But I don't see 2K there. Although I've only held one in my hand and looked through it. The illumination may change my mind but it wasn't a huge difference between the two IMO... Not that much for the price anyway...

How would you know what good glass is anyway? You live in the sub $200 optic world.
"I looked through it once" Sounds like the kind of reviews Voodooman loves.
You get what you pay for ... in your case you got crooked laser etching. Enjoy your PEPR world.

Acquaintance. Friend of a friend.
Front sight is pinned canted. Too much for the windage at the rear sight to take care of it. He was pissed with it and just wanted it gone.
I tried to help him, told him what he could do to make it work for only a little money. Heck, even just put a RDS on it at lower 1/3 and pretend the sight isn't there.
The gas works. He just was mad and wanted a whole new upper. He said $60 so I took it.

Don't know technical terms so bear with me.
The mount is milled from one piece of metal with a cut through the centerline of the bottom of the mount, along the mounting surface. There are two screws that draw the separated mounting surfaces together and create clamping force.
Since the mount itself is one piece, the mounting surface can only expand a few millimeters each way. This results in the mount "snapping" into place as you install it on a rail. The mounting surface expands as its going around the widest point of the rail and contracts when its fully seated. The screws then provide additional clamping force.
Imagine how a Larue index clip snaps onto a rail and its the same general concept.
Initial impressions of the mount are good. Rock solid install, super light weight and machining you can expect from BAD. Pretty affordable too.
Haven't had a chance to shoot with it yet. I basically put it onto my rifle and left for an exercise next day.

Since I bought off of GB I'm counting this as mail qualified. But I picked up from an out of town MN seller an hour ago. It's a 1956 Winchester model 62A .22 pump takedown. Guy had few and bad photos and just described "normal wear" so I was the only bidder. Pleasantly surprised to find almost all the bluing and virtually no patina, just light scratches and dings. Inside it looks like fired very little.
I last shot one like this at carnivals in the 50s-60s. Looks long, but at 5.5lbs is handy.

It's the Vortex Razor 1-6x, 30mm, 0 MOA. I asked if it'll work with a Vortex HS 4-16x44 and they said it should, although it is designed specifically for the Razor 1-6x. We shall see...
That's the 30mm mount. Both the Vortex 1-6 and the 4-16x44 have the same 30mm tube.
I've got the desert color of the same mount from the AR15 fundraiser. Got it couple of weeks ago.

5 clips of unfired TW 54 brass, sitting on 5 WW2 Era clips (IS 1, 3, AND 4's).
http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160513/31787b2fcc834a1af7b8d96d12445848.jpg
In addition to that, I also have 2 (I'm guessing 1903 stripper clips) and some very old casings (WCC 42, W.R.A.CO 18, U.S.C.C.O. 18 - check out that crimp!) with a nice patina.

TW 54 casing thrown in for comparison.

Very well done sir! Can't wait to see them built up, especially the V Seven!
Thanks! When they release the enlightened upper, I'll start working on it.
The Xanthos rail should be available next month. And 2a says they will be supporting every part of these builds, including a 308 pencil barrel. Hopefully I'll get it done before hunting season.

Just got back from playing with it... it was not earth shaking, but there was an improvement in the TWANG. Enough that I'll keep it on my 5.56 SBR since it has a LAW folder on it and I cannot use a silent capture spring.

For what they cost, i doubt i'd replace the springs in all my rifles with them ever. It would be nice to reduce the spring noise on my suppressed 300BLK gun without having to invest in a captured spring though.

Did you play with suppressed at all? Or is the reduction in twang just enough that bark of a 5.56 SBR drowns out the rest?

Take a look at the instructions. It makes mention that the spring may be too strong to run 300BLK subsonic.

Right on.
Geissele ought to make an AR-10 version of the spring. I haven't shot it yet, but it sounds like i can expect my RA Ultramatch .308 barrel to be overgassed and a beefy spring would help some.

Hey UW!
Had a fun day at the range, and I can confirm a couple of things... first off, the Geissele 42 whatever spring/buffer setup does in fact reduce the TWANG significantly over other spring except the JP Silent Capture. I tested it with 5.56 Winchester bulk box ammo against a generic carbine, a JP "Custom Centerless Ground and Polished Operating Spring" spring, the JP Silent and the Geissele. Of all of them, the Silent Capture was silent. Duh. But the generic was TWANGY TWANGY, the JP custom was a little twangy, the silent was silent and the Geissele 42 whatever was not really Twangy, but a little 'springy' sounding - the best of the 'normal' springs. Mine will certainly stay in the 5.56 SBR I have with the LAW folder since I cannot use a Silent Capture in it.
Second is that the Geissele 42 thingy did in fact run and function flawlessly with my 300BLK SBR. I have upgraded my Silent Capture I normally run to the next level spring from the spring pack, and adjusted the SLR gas block another notch open, but it is not anywhere near fully open. I did everything from a mag dump to check BHO and not a single issue. I would not hesitate to run it if I didn't already have the silent capture setup.

Crap, I had to sell one (no choke) and buy one (930JM Pro) specifically due to the Salvo - sadly I had my Saiga12 chopped and pinned or I'd get a mount for that too. Oh well.

Been eyeing these for a while. Give us a review, including easy of install, modularity and accessories.
Quick, initial first impressions:
Installation is pretty straight forward. Find the studs on your wall and then hang, lock, and drill in the screws. You'll need your own sheetrock screws, but everything else you need is included.
The rifle racks leave something to be desired. If you have rifles with lights, rail covers, ect the notches won't be big enough on the vertical racks. Hortizonal racks, also have notches that are too small.
If you have a bunch of stock 6920's no problem, but if you deviate, it might be a tough fit.
Everything is solid construction, my package was 177lbs for 6 panels. I'll need to order 2 more.
Once I get everything setup, I might post a more in depth.

I would have time for a trust ... but nothing to put in it. Do you think it'd still be worth it? If I remember correctly (memory's a little hazy) - I don't think I'd be at any advantage getting a trust now, vs after the deadline since anything I'd add to the trust (which would be far after the deadline) I'd have to get fingerprints/ID for.

A NFA trust could still benefit you, as UW mentioned. A well-made NFA trust would make life even easier. A trust is basically boilerplate, so if you know of a reputable law firm to generate one for you, you still have until 7/12 to submit any F1/F4 paperwork. If you're just having yourself on the trust, then it's probably not as critical, as you'd only need some fingerprints from you and a few extra forms. But still...fer 'mericuh.

That's the thing - I have no F1 or F4 paperwork to get rolling on (at least not before the deadline). For now the trust will be for me. But I'm sure when I get older, wife and kids & close friends, that will probably all change. I will probably get a trust from Coyote Rifleworks as I've heard good things from folks here and Stick.

^^^VERY cool.
Interesting that we're kinda running a parallel. I'm putting mine on an RA lower I'm ALSO getting custom engraved artwork put on.
Only free lower I have in hand at the moment is an Aero, the left side mag well "rise", or whatever you want to call it, sticks up above the upper when mounted, which I had expected it would. I'm going to be using it with one of Duffy's ABC/R and a Redi-catch which I actually think will accent the "rise" into a cool visual stair-step. That's the hope anyways.

I like it a lot. The machining is impeccable as is the finish. The increased barrel mounting surface, where the end of the nut interfaces against the upper is obvious in its diameter and circumference increase. The interference fit is also very much present. I put my barrel into it and it just got tighter and tighter. I stopped before even getting the barrel extension totally inserted for fear it might become... prematurely installed.
Thanks. Looking forward to your pics. Mine will be a Mockingjay theme build once I get the parts together.
That sounds super awesome and look forward to the build thread. My lower is out for deep laser engraving as we speak and I'm hoping to get it picked up sometime next week. Mine will be rocking some WEVO love, and may have hints of a Rainier or WEVO theme depending. Once I get a build thread rolling I'll be soliciting opinions on a few of the parts I'm mulling over.

UPS man paid me a visit today.
Got myself a brand new Frankford Arsenal Rotary wet tumbler.
I bought that magnet thing to pick up the pins with it too.
AAAAANNND I got myself a Frankford Arsenal case prep station.
So far I am very pleased with all of the stuff. I have been saving up some brass so I deprimed and resized about 250 cases (wild guess), trimmed and everything including removing the military crimps in not very long at all. I can say that case prep station is nice as HELL to have. I am running the tumbler now as a test to see if and how well it gets down into the primer pockets. If tumbling them in the steel doesn't clean them to my satisfaction next go around I might use that primer pocket cleaner tool. I will know the results in about an hour :)
I am fine tuning my work flow to speed up my reloading. Last night alone I primed, charged, and seated over 300 rounds. Like I said, I am trying to get my system to be more efficient and so far so good.
Just based on initial impressions the things I got today are definitely going to help a whole lot. So far two thumbs up.

I really like this tumbler. Much better than my sonic cleaner, as you can set it and forget it. I also now have a lifetime supply of lemmishine. I was thinking of getting their case prep station, but I will probably just sell my Lyman trimmer, and get the Hornady big ass station.

Obviously I just got my case prep station today but I think for the job it's supposed to do I think it will be hard to beat. I don't know what the Hornaday one will do that the Frankford one can't do equally well or better.
Based on the MSRP on the link I put up.... that Hornaday one isn't 4 times better than the frankford one... not by a mile.
$150 bucks vs $600 bucks? Not even a comparison to be had if you ask me.

That's the one. It's $410 at Cabela's, and sometimes cheaper. What I like about this one is the trimmer. I looks to have the best and hopefully most consistant trim. I hate trimming. Crank trims suck, drill trimmers start to suck later and make a mess. I like this handle action. So take off $100 for the free bullets, and I think it's a good deal.

Beautiful mail call. Love the optic. Have you taken game with the SiCo subsonic ammo?
Not with the 208 AMax's. I've shot 2 foxes and a few groundhogs with their sub Matchkings. They just passed right through. Curious to see what these do myself.

Thank you Sir. Got tired of waiting for the Geissele AR10/SR25 Mount. I will use the 16" Sig 716 to mount/level and initially zero the USO (really hope it clears the rear irons), then take it off and wait for the 716 SBR stamp to clear.

I hear you. Was looking for a particular one myself I couldn't track down.

I'll bite. Is the SR-25 mount just heavier than the typical AR mount to compensate for the recoil impulse, or am I completely lost?

You are correct. The SR-25 mount (Geissele) has four cross lugs for the rail slots and their AR-15 mount only has two.

Gotcha. I thought the bolts gave it 4 contact points.

I saw this on Parallax's feed too. How could I get one? And did the same engraver do both sides?

Just give them a call. He's got a full service store front, which is why he hasn't improved the website.

Believe it or not, that's actually improved since a few years ago. I used to try and find stuff on there to see if it was worth going to the storefront. Usually I'd just give up and head up there anyway.

LOL... yeah I didn't want to mention he had redesigned it 2-3 years back? Either way, it's still hard to navigate. I usually just PM Joe when I want to buy something from Parallax.

It more expensive than I thought it would be.
I have the drill press, but the jig is $100+, but are $40-70.
Plus refinish when you're done.

The only 80% lower i own is one of those polymer jobs, JMT? I have yet to finish it. I'd love to get some forged 80% lowers to finish, but the perfectionist ex-machinist in me would want to finish it on a mill, which is something i don't have ready access to anymore.

I saw on another forum where they have a forum jig that travels around. One guy gets it working and then they just mail the thing around. I have to go look but I think there over a few years they had several hundred recipients of the jig, if not more than that.
