NightFission is awesome. I love their Accur-8's. When I asked about the blue (seemed like an odd, unconventional color) they told me they actually made it thinking of people who are red/green colorblind and have issues with what we think of as more conventional front sight colors. Smart.

Ya know what's annoying? Picking up two Midwest Industries 2-piece handguards on sale (https://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/category-s/496.htm) and only when they arrive do I remember that I'd swapped the triangle handguard caps on my rifles for round ones so they'd work with Magpul slim handguards, so now I'm waiting for the triangle caps to show up from BCM since I can't find the originals so I can swap 'em back again, damnit!

Just a quick "Thanks" - based on your recommendation I purchased one, and today swapped sights on a P220 and Springfield XD with no problems. Very smooth and easy to use once you get everything tightened correctly.

Stupid and little, but damn my OCD is strong.

Went to a local place, past weekend as he said he had some yhm shims.. Get there and there like an inch wide.. Can’t have that. Plus almost .700 ID. Which would of barely sat on there.. maybe for bull barrels or bolt actions.

So dug thru looking at various shim kits, most were overly big on the OD. But seen the gem tech ones. Much better. Tighter to the threads and not ocd huge on the OD.

I've been a customer of Brownells since circa 1978? or so. Back then they mostly sold gunsmithing tools, and 1911 parts as well as popular bolt action parts, etc. They used to be very PROUD of their products because the were expensive as hell. Glad to see them becoming competitive as far as parts, upgrades, etc. etc. The last human I talked to with said she had records of my purchases that go back to 1979.[:D] Back in the day, you had to order from a form in the catalog, or by phone, but you had to have a credit card. Being a pretty much piece of crap, as far as the credit card companies thought of young enlisted folks,, for me, it was the fill in the blanks form and a bank check, or you didn't get crap. Wow, how times change. I hear you can get a credit card, no matter what your situation is, you can actually order stuff without submitting a form and waiting 4 to 6 weeks.[:D] Back then, an E-2 or E-3 need not apply for a credit card, the answer was NO! Ha..ha.. anyone else here caught up in those days? No debit cards or ATM's. Hell, you were lucky if you could open a checking account.

All kidding aside, Brownell's was the LAST resort. They had what you wanted, but they were expensive as hell.


Man, how times have changed. I remember walking to school, in wet snow and rain, up hill, both ways. You new kids have it made. Hell, I bet you young guy's even had shoes and socks to wear in the snow.!

Lastly, I've always been well served as far as Brownell's is concerned. Always top notch tooling and fixtures, parts, etc..and I will repay them by customer loyalty. Whew! Had to get that off of my chest.[:D] Also good to vet's before it was cool to be nice to vet's.

UW remember that I have had this for only a few hours but I can see the benefits already. The ability to swap across platforms with ease is great but, to be able to do that under 45 seconds can or will be a game changer for some. Once mounted it is rock solid and does not move. It was well thought out and the machining is perfect. It is addition to our collections we did not know we needed but do. I can say with confidence that I will be purchasing a few more. [BD]

1985 Allied Armament built Polish AKM on Nodak receiver. Came with an ugly Magpul stock and a broken rear trunion. Seller refunded $75 so it’s a one range trip, like new for $525 so far. LGS pal recommended
C W Gunwerks in Miami for the repair. If anyone knows a reputable AK fixer in MN I’d appreciate knowing.

P.S. it’s not one of the bad X marked ones I hear being sold on GB.

Phil - Thanks. I've been gunning for a deal on an IOR Valdada scope for a while, and it was worth the wait. I did some casual viewing with it a little before sunset tonight. Phenomenal glass! I was curious to see how such a comparatively small objective lens would stand up to my other scopes with 50mn to 56mm objective lenses. This scope gathers plenty of light.

Nah, I double up the ear pro. Use my Ops Core or Otto ears and even the shortest of barrels don't bother me. Plus the hate brake, much like the KX3, direct the blast forward, taking a little bite off the bark.

Had a 4X10 before.. going to forgo my mojoMojo OD, and use "the dude" OD, hope to get that ass kicking clean, mid scoop, Mo'Fo' sound, with the 12's. I've never even seen a Dumble amp, but if you listen to folks who can afford a 30K to a 100K amp, that $199 pedal will get you there as close as poor boy will ever get.[:D]

I din't say "hate". I meant despise, repulsive ghey guitars. All kidding aside, I think Robbin Ford takes a Dumble on the road. Saw Joe B. last spring at the Taft in Cincy. Couldn't see his back line though. If even in a "make believe world" I could play like SRV or anyone else that could afford one (SRV had two consecutively numbered that he used), wonder what those would be worth today[:D] 'Sides, I'd like to hear you and my son trying to pull off something other than pentatonic scales, on you're "wonder sticks" that cost $1500+ guitars, that have no tone but your amps.

All kidding aside, I bet that KH is a shredder's axe, that's for sure. I had a corona custom shop Strat, with a Bonnie Riatt neck built, and loved to play, it's only about .125 inches less wide, but almost a .250 (bottom to top) thinner neck. Great for smaller hands. I have a cheap strat copy that I might have Wormoth build me a custom neck for, depending on the cost, and new P/U's to give me a strat body and a Billy Gibbons sound.

Anyway, if you're feeling something tickling, just reach under, and pull that string. Don't clog the toilet with it, re-string your axe with it.[:D]

I'd just keep it, as a collectible. You can buy 180 gr. JHP anywhere, so since (caliber wise) it's not unique it has collectors value. Google some of the ammo collectors sights, and see what it's worth.

I LOVE NC. I spent many summers in Black Mountain and fell in love with the area as a kid. I would move there in a heartbeat if a job was offered.
I spent a few months in Middle Kentucky and liked the area too. I could see living there as long as you were in the right areas.

I will say, I've spent quite a bit of time in Alabama previously visiting family and never really liked AL. Family lives in a pretty poor area though.
The time I have spent the last 6 months in AL in the Huntsville area has been awesome. Plenty of land around. People tend to have gainful employment in the area and there are some BIG aerospace, technology, military and automotive sectors. A lot of money to be made and the economy is still Alabama economy. Houses around the area I was staying (Capshaw, AL) are some really good deals. Same houses here would easily be twice as much money. And Detroit suburbs don't offer anything more other than more employment opportunities. Just about everything else is worse.

Born and raised in Tennessee. Great state, no income tax, lots to do, lots to see, most any type of land you want. Farm land to very hilly (reluctant to call the Smokies mountains [BD] )

I'm only in Florida because of a promise made decades ago to my wife and her sister.

Not to be a Geissele apologist - but Geissele has said in their DDC equipment description that we should expect different shades, and that was done with intent. Even their receiver sets states:

"DDC receiver sets will have a shade variance between upper and lower receiver."

I like things to be matchy-matchy as much as the next guy, but I know that Geissele's DDC is going to be different with each piece. [emoji6]

I remember reading about Kim Ahrends firearms - then his grips - in the 80s when I was in High School. Sad to hear that Kim just lost his business to bankruptcy, which was proceeded by his wife’s (Judy) battle with cancer 10 yrs ago. I wish I would have bought these 5 yrs ago, but I didn’t have a reason to then. I’m glad to have a couple pair now.
