There should be a large update with this pretty soon, this belt is going through some intensive work in the next couple days outside of regular patrol duties, and I'll be able to get a bunch of images as well as enough info to make a solid review.

Three days of shooting in all different positions and in inclement weather have shown this belt to be a fully functional success.

Great shot Stick! I'm also looking forward the full review before I drop the coin. I have a couple of their mag holsters and love them. Quality gear.
Q for you -- if that's your setup, mind sharing a couple details about the 1911 you're running?

Nice to see the pic of the actual set up that someone uses...Once I get my molle attachments figured out I will post a pic (I think mine is going to be heavier though). Maybe others can post with how they have theirs set up with pics.

I'm debating if I want the suspenders or not before ordering.
Anyone want to weigh in with their thoughts? This is my first belt so setting up a rig like this is new to me.
Thanks

BravoHotel,
I've been wearing HSGI's suspenders for several months now and absolutely love them. When I bought my first pair of suspenders, I had around 17 pounds of gear on my duty belt. I now have closer to 20 pounds. The suspenders are a life saver. My lower back no longer bothers me. I barely notice all that weight until the end of the day, when I gear down. Also, I wear a drop leg holster and a drop leg modular MOLLE panel with a double decker taco and stuffed bleeder pounch (all HSGI... yes, I know I drank the Kool-Aid, but I love this company and their products, lol). So, even with the weight of the belt, plus the weight of the two thigh rigs pulling on the belt, I am very comfortable. I've run, climbed fences, crawled in attics, etc., and the suspenders have yet to fail me. I do wear 3 belt keepers on my duty belt, and attached to my garrison belt, which help to distribute the weight of everything.
Because the HSGI suspenders do not have shoulder pads (which I prefer), I have them set so the straps come over the top of my concealable body armor, and let the armor cushion the weight. I tried suspenders with shoulder pads, but was not happy with the design. I was unable to comfortably shoulder a long gun, and was more bulky than I wanted when wearing a jacket.
Another bonus of the the suspenders is that they act as a drag handle. But, since they're mounted to your belt, there's no plate carrier riding up and choking you as your partners pull you out of harms way.
I hope this helps. Stay safe.Last edited by ninja2438; 14 April 2011 at 21:43.
