Trijicon announces a new MIL-specification optic named the Variable Combat Optical Gunsight (VCOG). According to Trijicon on their VCOG website page, the VCOG is a 1– 6 variable power scope with a 24mm objective lens and a red LED illuminated first focal plane bullet drop compensating reticle. The LED is powered by a single lithium or alkaline AA battery. The lithium battery will power the LED for up to 700 hours continuous use.

Listing a total of 14 available variants of the scope, consumers can choose between integrated quick release or thumbscrew mounts with the following reticle options:

- Segmented Circle / Crosshair 5.56 / 55 Grain Ballistic Reticle
- Segmented Circle / Crosshair 5.56 / 77 Grain Ballistic Reticle
- Horseshoe Dot / Crosshair 5.56 / 55 Grain Ballistic Reticle
- Horseshoe Dot / Crosshair 5.56 / 77 Grain Ballistic Reticle
- Segmented Circle / Crosshair 7.62 / 175 Grain Ballistic Reticle
- Horseshoe Dot / Crosshair 7.62 / 175 Grain Ballistic Reticle
- Segmented Circle / Crosshair 300 BLK Ballistic Reticle
