Since this is a Mega Q&A, how is their barrel quality? While I want a Rainier Match 18" barrel, I was looking for a brand or two as a substitute if The rainier barrel is out of stock when I am ready to buy one. Mega makes an 18" SPR profile barrel I was specifically interested in. If anyone has info I'd appreciate it.

I think the Mega barrel from my experience is on par with the Rainier Select/Match lines. They deliver sub-MOA accuracy with match ammo. I've got a 16" in 556 and a 16" in 308.

Any connection between the Rainier and Mega barrels? They look very similar in finish and quality.

Not to my knowledge. The finishes between the Mega barrels and Rainier barrels look completely different to me.

I saw a Mega 16" barrel that I thought looked very similar to the Medcon.

Mega Arms was on my very short list for my first AR build... but then I started winning parts from Stickman

But in all seriousness I consider Mega as being a very good and quality company that makes great stuff. Lots of bang for the buck.

I could not agree with you more. Some of the best machining and quality control in the industry.
