The mating surfaces between the mount and the inside of the can are machined so that none of the gasses or fouling comes back behind the first thread's face so the can doesn't carbon lock onto the mount. That's exactly how it looked after removing the can after having shor a few mags through about six hours ago. Gotta love Griffin!

Yep. The Griffin guys are on the ball. I am exceedingly happy with my choices to go with them. I've had the exact same experience. Virtually no carbon gets into the threads or beyond.
