Bug-A-Salt, the next evolution in pest control...
In light of recent events and potential dark times ahead, thought I'd try and inject a little humor...
I ordered this awhile back while it was still in its fund raising phase (kinda like the I.O. Cover). I had totally forgot about it (yeah, it was that long ago), until it arrived today. It may very well be one of the coolest "firearms" I own.
Similar in operation to a pump action shotgun, the Bug-A-Salt uses ordinary table salt for ammo, and has and effective range of about 3 feet. A full combat load will give you roughly 50 shots before reloading the "magazine"
One feature that I particularly like is that the manual safety must be disengaged prior to each shot. Likelihood of an AD is slim to none. Also, after cocking the action, a pop-up rear sight comes up, doing double duty for aiming and as a loaded chamber indicator.
After practicing at the "range" I noticed that at about 2', the Bug-A-Salt produces about a 2" pattern with relative accuracy.
Now that my practice session was complete, I decided to go do some bug hunting... While unable to catch the action live, I did nail this guy hanging around my trash can from about 2.5'...
Verdict: The Bug-A-Salt is a winner! Ease of use, combined with cheap and plentiful ammo, ensure hours of insect slaying entertainment. It's guaranteed to make your average fly swatter obsolete. At an MSRP of $34.99, it's a "toy" that every gun enthusiast should have on hand. You can order them here: www.bugasalt.com-Los
