5.56 "Browntip" Accuracy Test
I was just having fun today. I don't know how many times I shot the target, maybe something went through the same hole, I dunno. I was using a 1-4 Nightforce with FC-2 reticle, DDM4 16.1" CHF Chrome Lined .gov profile barrel, and Surefire 556-212 suppressor. Shooting off a sand-bag seated on a bench at 100 yards. 1 shot every few seconds. Ammo was as the title suggest, 70gr "Browntip".

That's pretty darn good shooting with the FC-2. Not exactly a precision reticle. The NF 1-4x24 is one of my favorite optics.

Damn nice group considering that reticle is a 2 MOA dot.
Who manufactured the ammo?

The projectile is the 70gr TSX Barnes, un-altered from its civilian form. Countless photos online showing them expanded, unexpanded, etc. etc. as I'm sure you've already seen. I have observed that, quite frankly, the Hornady 70gr GMX absolutely sucks. Their 55gr 5.56 offering performs much better. The 70 tends to shear petals like crazy, yaw, and do all sorts of stupid shit. It is accurate and does have a killer BC, though! Maybe at longer ranges it comes into its own.
