9mm Pmag coversion (Run 9mm in a standard lower for $50)
It's actually not a conversion of the lower at all. All parts on the lower are completely the same. It's actually a magazine conversion where you swap out Pmag guts and your standard lower can run 9mm.
No blocks, no anything except a standard lower, a standard 9mm upper-- and of course the PMag conversion kit. Just change the guts out of a magazine and you can run it on an already SBR'ed lower.
I am on the fence about a 9mm AR, but if this proves to be reliable over time I could see myself building a 9mm upper and going from there. It's a way to dip my toe in the water before I go out and SBR a lower for something I am not entirely sure about. If I wind up liking 9mm ARs I could just use the same upper and build a dedicated lower for it later. I will be watching to see how this turns out.
It's not entirely compatible with some of the various 9mm upper systems but the 'basic type' it is. Pretty cool if it works and is reliable. Fun option for a range toy for sure.
What do you guys think?

I can't find anything on the internet, but I remember seeing a Spikes 9mm MRP barrel. That, a bolt, and a couple of these converted magazines and I could be shooting indoors all winter.

I think it’s too much..lol
Couple mag conversions and you could have bought a lower. As just about everyone has Glock mags, so they go hand in hand mostly.

Except for me.
Don't own a Glock so I would be paying for mags no matter what.
33 round Glock mags are $36 bucks plus shipping...
Like I was saying above... I am not 100% committed to the idea of PCC so getting a dedicated lower SBR'ed and what not still raises questions for me. This kind of setup would allow me to just build an upper...and if I like the caliber I can buy a devoted lower later on with the exact same upper. If I decide it's not really for me I could try and sell the upper and be done with it.
It could be a good way to try out something.
And with this you get LRBHO.
And if you want to you can convert the Pmag back to 5.56 and keep on using if it you don't like it.
Basically $80 bucks for 3 mags and the cost of an upper....I could blow $80 in ammo...Last edited by alamo5000; 21 April 2019 at 23:11.

Question from the group... I found this image on Quarter Circle 10's website. Apparently the barrel measurements, or rather the way you measure a barrel is different for a PCC.
Does anyone know of any handguard/barrel combos that could give me a good suppressor fit?
If if I wind up doing this----if the ID of the hand guard is big enough I might buy a 3 lug and very slightly tuck the can (maybe but not something I am actively looking to do).
I also might use griffin's 9mm taper mount muzzle device and their threaded blast shield. Honestly I like this latter idea better but both have their pros. With the 3 lug I can run it in the K configuration, but in the latter I can taper mount it.
