This has been introduced multiple times already but in the past it was just a token act by someone in the House. There have been numerous other bills as well with other names that are similar.
This time, at least in theory, we have all three branches so it could be feasible. Also the environment is totally different now. Now it wouldn't be a stretch to eliminate the ATF all together. If they do that (which is being discussed) declassifying those items could easily be part of that process. If they just nuke the ATF those underlying laws are still there.
Whether or not it gets through is anyone's guess but like I said, in the world of DOGE it's not a stretch, especially in the wake of the last 4 years and the blatant abuses by that agency.
