Barrel- Chambered in 5.56mm NATO, the Melonited barrel of the Adams Arms Mid Elite Tactical is a 1:7 RH twist with mid-length gas system, finished off with the standard crush washer / A2 flash suppressor arrangement.
Gas System- The Mid Elite Tactical gas block assembly is attached to the barrel with straight pins, and is machined with a 1913 Picatinny rail which mates up to the STAR-M-EX-P’s upper rail, forming a continuous monolithic rail system. The gas system is regulated through rotation of the gas plug situated at the front of the gas block assembly.
The gas plug is equipped with 4 detents at the 9, 12, 1 and 3 o’clock positions. The 9 o’clock position facilitates removal and installation of the gas plug and the sleeve/drive rod assembly, allowing for routine maintenance and cleaning.
Following around in a clock-wise direction, the 12 o’clock position allows for full unregulated gas flow, with the 1 o’clock position being the lower regulated gas flow position, ideal for firing with a sound suppressor attached to the weapon.
The final 3 o’clock position entirely cuts off all gas flow to the piston system.
