Centurion Arms C4 Rail (First Lookl)

Centurion Arms has released its C4 rail in its production form, and we were able to grab a few to check out.

I'll start by saying these rails have a level of machining that I rarely see. The edges are rounded, and you can tell that the metal was tumbled nicely in media, but it is without the dents that often occurs in rails that are lacing in sharp edges. Granted, what I see under a macro view of the camera lens has little to do with actual function, but it shows a level of quality that is well received.

Rails include the typical 7" carbine, 9" midlength, 10" and 12" for rifle and extended rail users. All rails are a two piece design that clamps securely around a stock barrel nut. These rails are the usual material, and usual hard coat anodizing in keeping with the upper end manufacturers. I've found the anodizing work to be even, and inside and out of the rail to be very clean. KAC rail panel cutouts are present. The Centurion Arms C4 rail comes with anti-rotation tabs on each side to work as a mechanical block, and prevent any movement of the rail. I found these to be snug and fit well to the receiver.

I installed the rail quickly on a midlength that was already built with a bare barrel nut, had this not been available, I would have simply cut the Delta ring cover off with a dremel and pulled the spring off. The handguard cap would have met the same fate. Total time to install the 6 screws and fasten the rail was around 2 minutes, if even that.

We'll review this rail series in more depth in a little bit, but while this was fresh in my mind, I wanted to get the information out there. Let me know if you have any questions, and I'll answer whatever I can.

Not only do they look sharp, they have the built-in QD attachment slots in the front and rear.

It's nice to see a well designed rail that uses a standard barrel nut. I'm looking forward to hearing your added impressions once you get some time with it.

The 9.0 and longer do, but the 7.0 does not, which makes sense given the limited real estate of the 7.0 version.

Hope stick doesn't mind me piggy-backing on with some pics of my own. all iPhone, so take them for what they're worth.

add 2 oz. for stock barrel nut, which remains, when comparing to other rail systems that come with proprietary nuts

Glad to see your pictures over here, how do you like it so far?

I'll try to get some pictures shot today of the 12" C4 rail.

I'm mounting up the 9.0 this weekend. The 7.0 was sent out by mistake but I'm waiting on a full 10.5" upper w/ 7.0 rail sometime in the next week or two.

I think this rail is great. Just picked one up a couple of days ago, and got the upper completed today. Rail is very solid platform no play or rotation. I also see what stick was talking about with the level of craftsmanship. This rail has no ruff edges, it is even smooth to the touch without rail covers. Centurioun Arms sure hit a homerun!

All parts purchased at Rainier Arms. Thanks for the great service.

Not to hijack but I also got my 10.5" upper from Rainier. I started with the UltraMatch series and changed out the BCG, compensator, removed the charging handle and a few other things. They were able to credit me for the parts removed and install the new parts without the extra $100.00 build charge. I went with the DD Lite 10.0 rail and the C4 looks like a great option!

Phenomenal service and I got it in only a few days!!!!

I have to agree with you all the people over at Rainier Arms have always treated me good. I had a similar incident where the vltor mur went on sale after I bought it and they credited me the difference on my barrel. I try to recommend them alot, they have great prices and there super fast shipping is hard to beat.
