New to Forum, 1st AR build
Hey guys,
I'm Mike and I'm currently deployed to Afghanistan as a Infantry Officer in the Army. I built up my M1A prior to going home on Mid-Tour leave, and decided to have my M4 all built up prior to coming home for good. Here is what I'm starting with.
Currently:
Stag-15 with the following mods done:
Upper
MI T-12 Free Float Rail
MAGPUL Front and Rear MBUS
MI Low Pro gas block
Lower
CAA G-27 Grip (use one over here and love it)
LMT SOPMOD stock (same as above)
KAC VFG
MAGPUL Enhanced Trigger Guard
I just bought a new Daniel Defense M4 - V5 NS complete upper from Rainier Arms with a pinned and welded PRI QC brake to put on my Stag Lower.
I have all this other stuff waiting back home to throw on it as well:
Troy Front BUIS
Troy Rear BUIS
BCM Gunfighter Charging Handle
EOTECH 516 Optic
MAGPUL BAD
Tango Down VFG
Surefire Scout 600 light (w/pressure switch)
MAGPUL XTM Rail Covers
Ambi Safety Selector Levers
Harris Bi-Pod with LaRue QD mount (for when I want to shoot from the prone)
I WANT to add a Spikes T-2 Buffer, VTAC Sling (I have a Vickers one on my rifle here in country, but I want a VTAC), and a Fail Zero Bolt Kit
I really can't wait to get home in a few months and put it all together!
Any input would be great!Last edited by mondo; 3 May 2011 at 08:33.

Sounds good so far. The PRI is a great brake. A little loud, but works great.

Well, Mike, I advise you to buy at least two magazines and some ammo and shoot your gun. You have a lot of hardware, just get out and start playing with it! Don't buy more stuff just for the sake of it.

Thanks, I look forward to going back home and shooting it. I got plenty of PMAGs from this deployment ( I think last count was 17) and a bunch of regular pre ban USGI ones so I should be good!

I would be more interested in shooting that fancy M1A of yours! That is a very nice looking rifle....
