I just finished my first AR build of any kind, last weekend...an AR pistol. I took all my parts to the guys over at Radical Firearms (in Stafford, TX) and they "tightened" it all up for me as well as doing a 5 round function test. It went bang every time. YES! I finally got to shoot it Wednesday and boy was I happy with the result!
1) Spikes upper, lower, enhanced lower parts kit, melonite gas tube, and Barking Spider 2.
2) Yankee Hill 10.5 ", 1 in 9, melonite barrel and low profile gas block.
3) WMD Nickel Boron charge handle and BCG.
4) Radical Firearms 12" keymod rail.
5) KAK Industries buffer tube kit with Sig 15 Arm Brace.
6) Gear offset rail mount with Inforce WML HSP.
7) Magpul AFG
8) Eotech and Mapul BUIS
The weapon
The result
The shots that are almost dead center were the last 5 rounds at 50 yds. I would like to say this was offhand...but I cannot tell a lie. I used a Harris bipod on the front while I was doing the sight in. I CAN'T hold that steady.
Later!

would the buis front sight block the designator if in front? Would lengthen your sight radius quite significantly if swapped.

I never minded a fixed front sight. I don't have them on my ARs but I like them...some classic feel or something... I also like having the forward assist, brass deflector, and all that.
I feel like the short barreled ARs require a can also (especially under 12" but I'm suppressor biased)!
Also, my can is so hot in that pic the white portion in the center cooled back down to FDE in about 20 minutes. It's a 7.62 suppressor and even at 20oz it feels right at home on that pistol
