Noveske 16in Pac Nor Recon & 18in SPR Barrels
These barrels feature polygonal rifling and a 5.56 Noveske Match Mod 0 chambers.
I've seldom heard about polygonal rifling in ARs. I was wondering what the advantages and disadvantages would be? I'm also wondering about the Noveske chamber could it be compared to the Wylde?
The one time I did read in a magazine about polygonal bores and the AR-15 it mentioned progressive gain. Do the Noveske barrels have this feature?Last edited by parabellum; 8 October 2007 at 03:04.

when I asked john said the groves are relieved so they don't cut into the bullet and are not exactly like a HK poly barrel.the answer he gave me on the chamber is this
"It is similar to a wylde in concept, but better suited for a combat application in that it makes extraction a little easier. We have seen the Wylde stick a MK262 Mod 0 case after several mags dumped in a auto torture test. The 5.56 NMm0 chamber body is a NATO body in that it falls between the min and max NATO tolerances. The throat is tighter and shorter than a 5.56 NATO for better accuracy. "
