I guess I really should stop here and say Hi. I've been using the forum for a few days now and it seems like I'll be quite happy here.

I'm a US Navy vet and I lived overseas for 23 years. My wife is Finnish and we were married in Finland years ago. 3 years ago we decided to leave Finland (who the hell wants to continue paying 23.5% sales tax on top of all the other taxes?). So we used all the money we had, bought a house and some land up here in the Rocky Mountains of Idaho and we moved here. Did all that over the internet too. Had never even seen our house or land except from pictures and from Google Earth.

We flew from Helsinki to Chicago with our two dogs. Bought a pickup in Chicago and started driving west to get to our home. After 6 months living expenses we would be dead broke and it was make a living or die trying to.

Well, 3 years later we're still here. I am the computer repair company in this neck of the high desert. I've been a computer engineer since I left the Navy so long ago.

Now we have a couple horses and we raise some sheep also for lamb meat. Living and surviving here in the mountains is hard, but it's worth it. The county is 2,500 square miles, give or take a few, Population density is 1.2 people per square mile. The county seat has 996 people. Our 'city' has 194 people. We have one county Sheriff and 3 deputies. This is our kind of place. Oh, the only traffic lights within 80 miles are two blinking yellow lights.

:)
